Chapter 2 (cont'd)
Session IV
(3) Selona 11 - (3) Selona 15, 44 BBY
The party lands on Sriluur, an arid backwater planet in Hutt space inhabited primarily by Weequay and Houk clans. After a little fracas with some local Houks, and a spot of gathering information through a local computer network, the party rents speeder bikes and makes for the capital Meirm City. An encounter with a pack of velocigriffs proves harrowing. On arriving at Meirm city, the party makes contact with a Twi'lek Republic agent named Lyn Me. She has made contact with an associate of Booster Reece's and becomes a key member of the investigation.
Session V
(3) Selona 15 - (4) Selona 16, 44BBY
Booster's friend, Danon Leyke, had a very impactful data disk that features key intelligence about a galactic conspiracy involving the Stark Commercial Combine and the blight throughout the Outer Rim, but he received a clandestine message from Booster to meet at the main Quay temple in Meirm City. As the Jedi Masters were following a lead (a false one, it turns out), the rest of the party chases and finds him at the holy site. The dimly lit obsidian temple contained several holos of the moon Quay and Sriluur wolves, along with some really creepy music. As Danon attempted to make contact with Booster, the trap was sprung, and parishioners attacked in the main temple hall. Along with the priest, there were Quay assassins, under the direction of a new face, a Rodian in a purple business suit with a pair of nasty dart launchers. The Rodian Scoundrel Suweedo and the Quay priest (a noble) proved dangerous opponents almost killing the Twilek and the Clawdite, but they were handled. Unfortunately, Suweedo's brother Ruweedo, seeing that Suweedo was unable to recover the disk, ceased waiting in their ship and blasted off into space with Booster Reece in tow.
Session VI
(4) Selona, 44BBY
Lyn Me and Ash were taken to a local emergency room, and revived. The group reconnected with the Masters and raced to the hangar where their ship had landed. They arrived only to find huge docking clamps on the ship and many Houk thugs and mercenaries waiting with deadly intent. The battle in the open air hangar was intense, and turning our heroes' way when a group of security droids lead by a Dark robed lightsaber-wielding force-user intent on the group. The Dark Jedi brought haunting memories of the "Institute" that had imprisoned the Clawdite force adept Ash, for such would have been his fate had he not escaped. Even the great Leonidus was hard-pressed in this battle. Dooku demonstrated his great strength in the force using the environment against the villains. Jaden was able to release the clamps and everyone scurried aboard while the Jedi with a little help from Ash finished off the Dark force-user.
As the group rocketed off the planet of Sriluur, an uncertain future awaited them. The data disk implicated the SCC in the blight, but the researchers involved faded into the galactic underworld during the onset of the Stark Hyperspace War. On a personal level, Would Neomah and T'aan excel in their Jedi training, balance their friendships, and loyalty to the Republic? Would Jaden ever find his captive father Booster? Could Ash ever come to grips with the torturous horrors and mental conditioning he had experienced and unravel the mystery of the "Institute?" Only time will tell...

Star Wars: Dreams of Destiny
Chapter 2 (cont'd)
Session III
(2) Selona 10 - (3) Selona 11, 44 BBY
The Valiant comes out of hyperspace and into range of SOTOR-21, a remote surveillance station on the edge of a handful of volatile Outer Rim systems that are outside of Republic space. An automated navigation beacon is the only thing responding to hails. The Valiant docks with SOTOR-21, and Jedi Masters Dooku and Leonidus request that the Padawans stay behind. Unfortunately, the station's artificial intelligence is in full defensive mode and traps the Jedi in ray shields. Thus it falls on an unlikely group of younglings to save the day...
IRIS, the station AI, sets her various labor droids on the intruders, including server droids, utility droids and hovering repair droids. The group rushes to stop the self-destruct. After some nasty radiation dosages, electric burns and some shocks from some mechanic droids, the countdown is halted.
Now that they had the station safe, the party worked its way to the main computer, where Jaden interfaces with IRIS. It turns out the computer personality was a brainchild of his father, Booster Reece. Befriending IRIS, Jaden frees the Jedi, determines that Booster burned a valuable data disk before leaving and that Booster set the station's reactor on a self-destruct cycle once it had been boarded to keep the surveillance platform and top-secret Republic infor from falling into the wrong hands. As this was all discovered, a group of ships comes out of hyperspace into on the station.
The self-destruct is reset, giving the group enough time to board the Valiant, but not before Jaden downloaded some of IRIS's core program to preserve the AI, the only legacy of his father he had left. A running space battle unfolds, with the Capital Venture, the Dynamo (a Trandoshan freighter), and a pair of Arakyd Vipers. The group is lead by a Devaronian who was a bit shaky in his leadership after some cunning negotiation (empowered by the force) by T'aan. If he had been more decisive, they could have had the Valiant. As it happened, the Vipers were destroyed and the ship made it into hyperspace on the trail of Booster's last trajectory, determined by a combination of force intuition on Neomah's part and the last vectors given by IRIS's scanners. On to Sri-luur...

Star Wars: Dreams of Destiny
Chapter 2
The Galactic Republic is on the brink of war. A group of pirates called the Stark Commercial Combine under the charismatic leadership of Iaco Stark have plagued Republic and Trade Federation Shipping along the Outer Rim. An explosion at the bacta producting facility on Thyferra has created a shortage of the healing gel that has rocked the galaxy. A delegation of the Republic headed by Senator Valorum is meeting at a secret location to broker a peaceful resolution to the crisis.
Meanwhile, with the failure of the Erysian conference, hunger is spreading throughout the desperate worlds of the Outer Rim as the galactic famine has grown. Emergency relief teams are having trouble reaching the endangered planets due to the actions of the SCC.
With the eyes of the galaxy poised on the bacta crisis, it is up to the Jedi to discover what is behind the mysterious famine...
Session 2 44 BBY
T'aan Devos and Neomah are training at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant under their respective masters, Leonidus and Dooku when Neomah goes to meditate after a particularly deriding lesson. She centers herself, and has a vision of Jaden and Ashton in a sled race about to be ambushed and shot. Off like a flash, she grabs T'aan from training and the pair requisition a Jedi speeder bike to rescue the intrepid pair.
It was a vision of the near future, as the two scoundrels are entering an illegal Tapani Day repulsor sled race in the industrial districts' maze of heat sinks on Coruscant. The event is being sponsored by a young, rather lean Hutt named Lindo. The danger of the race is apparent as large hot balls of gas periodical fill the sink lanes proving a great hazard.
The race begins shortly after the two notice some shady looking characters reading some sort of handheld sensor and giving the younglings intimidating looks. The race is on and right away one racer falls victim to a fireball in the first circuit, burning up. Rounding the first corner, a dubious pair of blood carvers in the race ready a net launcher to take out the two. Ash is alerted by the screaming engine of the Jedi bike and Jaden gets a telepathic message of danger from Neomah. The net launch falls short, and the blood carvers resort to blasters on stun. Ash's secreted blaster however is not on stun and he removes the passenger with a well-placed shot. In the midst of blaster shots, some bumping, a rogue fireball or two, Jaden pilots the two to victory!
On the way to collecting their winnings from the Hutt Lindo, more blood carvers move to intercept them, even with the young changeling changing form to a rodian. They can still track him using their sensors! The Jedi jump in to intercede as a blaster battle amidst the throng ensues. Ash cunningly uses the Hutt for cover, and a poorly placed blaster bolt triggers the Hutts guards into action. The blood carvers stand no chance against the Hutts guards and the Jedi Padawans combined.
After the confusion is settled, a few older Jedi arrive including Masters Windu and Qui Gon Jinn along with the Padawan, Obi Wan Kenobi, to investigate. The two rambunctious youths, Ash and Jaden, make a stealthy exit as the elder Jedi arrive fearing trouble, having drawn two Padawans into the seedy situation. T'aan makes a connection with the Hutt Lindo, opening the way for future favors. Neomah makes a subtle connection of her own, looking on the handsome young Padawan Kenobi with un-Jedi like affection.
That night, someone is caught on camera broadcasting top secret information from the Jedi Temple to a relay satellite above Coruscant. That someone turns out to be Ash! It is discovered that he has been mentally conditioned and programmed to do this sort of thing. A counselor is assigned to de-program the youngling and rehabilitate him.
Finally, a message from an Outer Rim listening post bears a portentous message that vital information has been received and the agent fears for his safety. The request for help comes from a familiar face, Jerek "Booster" Reece, Jaden's father! Masters Dooku and Leonidus, along with their Padawans, Jaden and Leonidus's other charge, Ash all get aboard the starship Republic starship Valiant, a non-descript GHRTOC freighter and head for the outlying space station.

Star Wars: Dreams of Destiny
The Galactic Republic is in a state of decline. Corruption is rampant and political infighting is at an all-time high. A number of outlying systems in the Outer Rim have been beset by a mysterious famine.
The Senate, under the able leadership of Chancellor Parateus, is hosting a conference on the gas giant Erysia to broker a deal that will break the greedy Trade Federation's monopoly on agricultural shipping.
A class of Jedi Padawans who have not yet taken a master are en route to observe the historic conference and see the fabled arboretums of Erysia...
Session I 45BBY (Before the Battle of Yavin)
The Padawans included seven-year-old Neomah and thirteen-year-old T'aan Devos, along with Zavra, a girl eventually bound for the Med corps (quite reluctantly). Tagging along is an eight-year-old grease monkey named Jaden Reece. He is a non-Force Sensitive ward of the Jedi temple and has a friendship with Neomah.
Jaden has been in secret long-range communication with a mysterious youngling who wants to escape from some sort of captivity. Jaden, being young and naive, lets slip the youngling timetable on when the field trip to Erysia is to take place, in an elaborate plan to spring the youngling from his captors.
Accompanying the younglings are two Jedi Masters, the great Master Dooku and Master Leonidus, a cathar (lion-headed biped). Dooku is rather disappointed at the assignment of 'babysitting' when matters of galactic importance are at stake, and Leonidus gently chides him on doing his duty. After landing, the younglings are taken on a tour through one of the arboretums, and Jaden wanders off looking for his contact--all part of the master plan. Neomah follows out of a young sense of adventure. Shortly follows T'aan, noting their absence, hunts them down to protect the young ones from their own impetuousness. Upon meeting the youngling, a force-sensitive changeling (clawdite), the foursome is set upon by some wild dinkos that had gotten loose. It is also noted that plants seem to bend toward T'aan, and, given his likelihood of not obtaining a master, inadvertently earns the nickname 'Agcorps.'
Shortly after the fracas with the vermin, a real threat appears. Ships attack the conference--the tech savvy Jaden recognizes them as Arakyd Vipers--Ashton Wiesel (the clawdite) tells the Padawans it is a disruptive attack to collect youngling Jedi. Leaving the arboretum, the kids run afoul of thugs bent on their capture, spying Masters Dooku and Leonidus fighting to protect dignitaries.
T'aan proves a brave and able defender, and the clawdite a bit dark and eager for the fight. Neomah, driven behind a fountain and intimidated by the snaggle-toothed attacker leering over her, unleashes her fear with the force and hurls three of the thugs to their death (dum dum dum dum de dum, dum de dum). A few rounds and a dark side point later, the foes are dispatched. The conference secured, their clawdite companion is determined to be the subject of a program of tortured training and so the Jedi take him to Coruscant to be rehabilitated. Impressed with their performance in such a dangerous situation, Leonidus takes T'aan as his Padawan learner and Dooku takes the powerful but passionate Neomah as his.

Star Wars: Destiny Cycle
Welcome to the first blog of my Star Wars campaign, the Destiny Trilogy. * (originally a trilogy, I'm changing this to the Destiny Cycle) We are using the new Saga Edition rules and are having a whale of a time. The campaign is broken up into chapters, which are composed of multiple adventures. This campaign is being played in bunches when we take breaks from the version 3.25 DND game. (That blog is elsewhere on blogspot). Each chapter in the saga is begun with a crawl, in typical Star Wars fashion.
The first chapter, entitled 'Star Wars: Dreams of Destiny', features the characters as younglings of varied ages. Two are Jedi (one female), and one is a scoundrel, all human, living in the Jedi temple on Coruscant. The fourth member of the party will be encountered shortly in the story; he's a Clawdite scoundrel (force adept). The year is 45 BBY (before the Battle of Yavin).
Enjoy!
